How do I withdraw my proposal?
There is a difference between withdrawn and deleted proposals. Withdrawn proposals stay in the database and are still available for viewing or printing. Deleted proposals are deleted from the database.
If your application is at the Waiting for Application step, i.e. BEFORE submission, then Delete Application is an available action in your Actions or Task List dropdown.
If you select Delete Application, a prompt may ask for confirmation.
Click Cancel to keep the application; OK to delete it. Deleted applications are deleted from the database and also disappear from your Proposals list
After submission, if you select Withdraw Application (Delete Application is no longer available), a subsequent dialog will ask you to Update (or Save and Submit) or Cancel the new status. On Cancel, the application is NOT withdrawn. On Update (or Save and Submit), the application is withdrawn. Withdrawn applications stay in your Proposals list.
The NCS Withdraw Application form
On the withdrawal form, Date of Withdrawal and Reason for Withdrawal are required fields. Complete the form and click Save and Submit to complete the withdrawal.
If your project does not allow investigators to withdraw their applications after submission, you can still withdraw it by asking the coordinator (or another authorized user) to withdraw your application from wherever it is in the workflow.
